Specialist Language work

Specialist language and vocabulary are a vital part of being able to use your English in your areas of work and interest. In my lessons you will follow a course program that is tailored to your specific needs so that you can say what you need to say.

Do you need more support?

Conversation+ lessons allow you to dedicate yourself more fully to all aspects of the language. These lessons include correction of written assignments or presentations and more intensive work on the more technical aspects of English.

About Me

Although I come from England originally, I have lived in Switzerland since 2004 and moved here after completing my CELTA qualification in Cambridge in 2001. My first teaching post was in Cologne, Germany, where I worked for a business English school. Here, I learnt to tailor my lessons to suit my students’ needs, teaching one-to-one lessons and lessons on job specific themes such as insurance, auditing or management. Since then I have taught at a wide variety of language schools and in companies, including International House, Migros Klubschule, Alpha Sprachenwelt, Flying Teachers, UBS and Coca-cola.

In 2019, I spent one year studying at the School of Applied Linguistics in Zurich, Altstetten. As well as gaining skills in translation, I further developed my knowledge of how the English and German languages work. To continue my studies in German I took a C1/C2 German grammar course this Spring at the ZHAW.

As a committed teacher and coach, I keep up to date with the latest developments in Educational and Linguistic theory. I am also an active member of the English Teachers Association of Switzerland (ETAS)
